Kristen + Nick | Engagement Session in Sedona, AZ

Engagement sessions are the perfect time to think about your relationship and what makes it unique. If you were to describe you and your partners relationship would it be adventurous, athletic, comfortable, playful, etc.? What is something that is specific to just your relationship?

Now, think about the unique moments that define your relationship. It could be the way you both share secret smiles and inside jokes, like your own personal language that brings you closer together. Or it could be the adventures you go on on together, from scaling mountain peaks to exploring your favorite charming cities. And let's not forget the little everyday things that bring you joy - cooking together, dancing around the kitchen, and experiencing the magic of ordinary moments together.

You are the storytellers of your own love story. Through your engagement session, you have the opportunity to paint a vivid picture of your unique connection.

Kristen and Nick’s Story

Picture this: Kristen and Nick got engaged while they were snowboarding together. How amazing is that? They literally slid right into their future together, full of love and adrenaline. And let me tell you, that's just the beginning of their wild journey. These two are always on the move, riding the trails on their mountain bikes or making a splash at the lake.

They are no stranger to adventure, which is why hiking Cathedral Rock in Sedona, Arizona was the perfect way to photograph their engagement.

With flashlights, hiking shoes, and backpacks with outfit changes and water, our hike started at about 4:30am! We wanted to be sure we got there before sunrise and Kristen and Nick had enough time to change. This involved us hiking in pitch black, beside our lights, for most of the way up!

We made sure to hike in comfortable clothing that way nothing got ruined, especially since there is a lot of climbing involved (you gain about 550 ft. in elevation).

Kristen brought a long and flowy black dress that was perfect for the session! It was such a comfortable dress but also easy to pack. Nick also matched with a comfortable black outfit - a long sleeve and jeans.

Our session lasted about an hour while we were up there, and took some photos on our way down as well. The morning session was perfect to beat the heat and the other hikers! by the time our session ended, there were so many hikers coming up we were glad we went up before sunrise.
